Jowar is a traditional food grain of India. It is a fiber, protein and mineral rich grain. The starch present in the grains is slow digestible and is a low glycemic food. It is reported to be an excellent source of phytochemicals such as polyphenols and flavonoids. It is a gluten free grain and can be consumed either after boiling/steaming/stewed or in the form of soups.
